Citycare works hand in hand with NHS Hull to incorporate the 'Arts in Health' programme to every LIFT building.
1% of the construction budget of each scheme is dedicated to a programme of Arts interventions designed to connect the building with the community it serves.

A range of interventions are used including:
- design features within the fabric of the building (walls, staircases, interior decor, flooring and sculpture pieces)
- Involving artists in the design of the furniture and fabrics
- a print collection
- performance arts and events
- community artists interpreting local stories in the finished facility.
Citycare was one of the first in the country to adopt a percent for art policy for LIFT schemes, enabling an innovative and visionary Arts and Health programme which is aimed at inspiring those who work in and visit the new purpose built centres.
We have worked in partnership with artists to develop the vision for this programme to create health centres that become places that people want to visit - buildings where people feel better.
